and i'm currently working on filmed! it's currently a system for labs to drop off film with physical drop boxes, but i'm hoping soon to expand it to a general FMS (film management system). my lifes been pretty boring but yeah im sure ill post more this (school) year but who actually knows cya in the next one -q

part of this might be because of my age, and people might not think i can do much since i'm 15 (13-14 at the time!), but buildspace didn't stop me because i was too young. they pushed me to go higher (start and open framedlabs, farza and alec even bought a frame!) and achieve what i wanted to do. it's truly sad that it's gone.

there's something special about buildspace – even though they shut down, it's still alive in the community of the thousands of people that have gone through the nights and weekends program and the people who have been there since the beginning.

from the people back in the crypto days with the completion NFTs, to the people who did nights and weekends in founders inc, buildspace touched a lot of people and helped a lot of people and it lives on in everyone.

i know it'll live on in me :')

i wanted to write about how s5 irl went for me because it was super fun and i miss it and sf already :(

day 1 (technically day 0)!

woke up at 4:50am to catch a 8am flight out of charlotte.

tried to download a movie but airport wifi sucked, used my hotspot, and used up all my data there (not like it mattered – wifi sucked lol) flight goes fine, no problems, we land in las vegas for our first layover! first thing i see off the gate – slot machines!

such a weird thing to see and think about – like yes, las vegas IS the home of casinos and gambling and everything but right off the plane, do most people go “oh i think im gonna gamble!” (???? freaky)

i read somewhere a while back that they rig the machines at the airport a higher percentage so people come back and play more and lose MORE money so thats interesting

anyways! we get lunch, get on the flight to oakland (did i mention we were flying spirit?), and i send in the whatsapp if anyone else is on the flight. people were!

that was fun! we took the train back to san francisco then went to the specific hotels we were staying at.

i wanted to stop by buildspace hq and at least take a picture with the sign (which i did) when i noticed a group of people by the venue thinking it was other buildspace people seeing if they could get in early lol. little did i know it was the actual buildspace crew! the team and crew pass ppl were there so that was fun lol.

gn day 0, hello day 1!

i met some really cool people in line, two identical twins, jack and sam!

i thought they were super cool! first people i met in line and we were pretty good friends over the last 3 days. definitely check them out!

okay, cool! so we got in, got out our notebooks and pens, and kickoff started! this was my goal sheet:

5 preorders in 3 days, and finsih my software side work that i needed to do. did i do it? (nope! not even close but thats okay!) read on to find out ;-p

day 2 – the working day

day 2 i really locked in lol. i finished the software i needed, ended up buying a keyboard because my stuff wasnt working, and met a bunch of new people.

speaking of meeting new people, i think its funny how almost every day i feel like im gonna lose my voice, and the next morning i wake up fine lol. who knows maybe im magic or my years of meeting people helped me.

so, i got stuff done, i got a \$20 burrito for lunch from a food truck (maybe worth \$15, good burrito!), and i played soccer for like the second time in my life. there was an amazing sunset, it was so beautiful

oh yeah, i was in a music video too lol.

day 3 (demo day!!)

day 3 was super fun, and super sad too.

it was so fun meeting everyone and knowing what they were working on and all that, and it's sad that it has to be over.

i met so many cool people and saw so many cool things, it was so fun and i will miss it so much.

did i end up hitting my goal? no. did i have fun? yes, and i think that's important too :)

fast forward to ~ august 2022, i stumble on buildspace and i take part in their crypto courses. eventually, they started these “pomodoro” sessions with groups of people over zoom and i used these sessions to work on the dashboard and web end of framedlabs, where people would upload pictures. then, again, nothing.

fast forward the end of 2022, and buildspace nights and weekends s2 starts up. i get accepted and start working on framedlabs to become a physical product. i get through all six weeks, and get the opportunity to go to san francisco! it was an amazing experience, something that I wouldn't trade for anything else.

now, i'm finally taking the opportunity and the motivation to finish framedlabs and ship all the orders out before the beginning of my sophomore year (august 25, 2024). i have a really good feeling that this is going to be great, and i'm so excited to finally finish framedlabs.

I thought since buildspace is starting up again I would say what I've been up to since

• started working on an app called gpt.i.ng (coming soon), that takes generative UI a little further
• finished freshman year!
• went to my local theatre awards where my school was nominated 1/6 best musicals in the season (didn't win but we got there!)

now that summer's here, I have some more plans for building things and having fun

• visiting Washington, DC to help lobby for bills to support finding a cure for cystic fibrosis (learn more at cff.org)
• FINISHING FRAMEDLABS. it's been almost a year and a half and this really needs to be finished. in this six weeks I plan to put my nose to the grindstone and finishing hardware forever (I am never going back to hardware after this)
• starting a software project (most likely gpt.i.ng, or doing something else AI wise since I have the domain for another at least 8 months) and gaining monthly revenue from more than local website server hosting costs

main goal:

MAKE REVENUE.

well, it's 2024. who's the future ogden morrow and james halliday?

so, framedlabs. preorders, hardware, everything. what's next? well, first things first, i'm finishing up the preorders. due to some things changing, i'm rewriting it entirely, but this should help the stability of it in the long term. second, i plan on writing a lot more to do two things. 1, it provides me accountability to get things done, and 2, it's transparent with the progress of things. also, i just wanna start writing more for fun because why not :p after i finish framedlabs preorders and ship them out, i'll probably take a break and work on something not super consuming, like redoing the web dashboard of framedlabs. to me it just feels old and outdated, and it's always fun to work on it (love design). i plan to apply to a few grants/scholarships if i can find any to potentially secure funding for research into framedlabs generation 2 and future development. i'm not entirely sure where framedlabs will go after i ship out these preorders, but i think that's okay. i've learned a lot from this experience that i can take with me to other things and projects if i so choose. if it stays a small little thing for a little group of people who bought framedlabs, great! if not, that's great too. it was a good learning experience and, hey, maybe i'll find something else to work on.

everyone's doing these 2023 rewinds of their life, so why not me? let's do a tick list:

there really hasn't been much, but i think that going to san francisco for n&w s2 has changed a lot in my life since then. i've started a company, got a product, and i've progressed a lot in developing. i've learned new skills, met a lot of people, and just had a fun time. yeah there's been a few delays (cough cough substack post here) but it's been really fun! i'm super excited to see where it's gonna go in the next year.

idk what i was expecting to write about here soooooo uhh yeah! happy new year to all and let's hope for a good 2024.
